On this project BSI worked in conjunction with the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority and MassDOT design teams on the pre-design phase of the Green Line Extension (GLX) which runs from Boston through Cambridge and ending at a proposed new train station at Tufts University in Somerville.
BSI provided quality level A & B services at various roadway crossings and at the proposed new train stations along the new route. This entailed horizontally designating of all of the conflicting utilities to the proposed design.
BSI also provided non- destructive vacuum excavation at critical utility depth locations. All of these results were electronically surveyed and incorporated into the existing topographic digital files. BSI provided consulting services for the utility relocations for this project. This project is currently ongoing.
